Winter season has arrived in Pakistan with all of its highs and lows. The constituent ingredients of Joshanda are Seeds of Khatami (Althea officinalis)-6grams, fruits of Sapistan (Cordia latifolia)-5grams, dried rhizomes of mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra)-3grams, seeds of Khubbazi (Malva rotundifolia)-6grams, leaves of Gaozaban (Onosma bracteatum)-3 grams, flowers of Banafsha (Viola odorata)-3 grams and dried fruits of Unnab (Zizyphus jujuba)-6grams.

Each of the above ingredients has its own benefit, for example, Cardia latifolia is useful for the thoracic region, has soothing effects on the larynx and also acts as a cleaner of the respiratory tract. Althaea Officinalis helps in curing coughing and relieving pharynx & chest congestion.
It is due to these beneficial properties that Hamdard Joshanda has become a daily feature of Pakistani life in winter. Just take a sachet and mix it in either hot water or the near essential beverage of milk tea and an afflicted patient soon begins to find comfort and relief.
