Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi in his latest tweet has requested Imran Khan to build Kalabagh and other small dams to save Pakistan from water scarcity if Imran Khan becomes the prime minister of Pakistan after winning General elections 2018.

Pakistan is facing acute water shortage and is expected to run out of its water resources by 2025. Out of all the provinces in Pakistan, Punjab and Sindh with a large population immediately require sufficient water resources.

The construction of Kalabagh dam has been a contentious issue for decades as Sindh and KPK have resisted its construction.

Hamza Ali Abbasi is already caught up in controversies these days after he has been lashing Reham Khan, the ex-wife of Imran Khan for producing a book with serious allegations on the PTI leadership including female party members. Hamza Ali Abbasi said Reham Khan, in her book, has attempted to malign the female news anchors and the institutions of Pakistan.

His movie, ‘Parwaz Hai Junoon’ will be releasing on Eid-ul-Azha. Earlier it was expected to release on Eid-ul-Fitr.

  1. It is high time that Pakistan becomes serious about the looming danger of acute water scarcity in a few years from now. Imran Khan, I am sure, understands the gravity of the situation, and as the prospects of his grabbing the top position post general elections are bright, it is only a fair demand by Hamza Ali Abbasi. More voices need to be raised in support of Kalabagh and many more dams، blueprints of which have been lying in the shelves for ages.

  2. Kala Bagh Dam is a must for our future. Dams are initially resisted by the locals BUT it is the test of the real leaders to see through these petty hurdles. Wherever we complain about India’s intransigence about our water shortage, we are told that we hav’nt done anything to stop wasting our water resourses by not building any dams. IK must do it
