Imran Khan’s stepdaughter Mehrunnisa Hayat joined Pakistan Tehreek-e -Insaf on Monday 6th August 2018. Mehrunnisa is the daughter of Bushra Maneka from her previous marriage to Khawar Maneka.
The announcement came on the day when Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf nominated Imran Khan as their Prime Minister. Bushra Maneka was also present in the meeting.
Meherunnisa Hayat and her friend Farah Khan congratulated Imran Khan on his victory and expressed contentment over the party leadership and their manifesto. Hayat appreciated Khan for raising political awareness among the people. Hayat stated that she believes Imran Khan can rightfully gear the country towards progress.

Bushra Maneka has not actively participated in the election campaigns of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. She is reportedly rumored to not attend the oath-taking ceremony of Imran Khan as she observes ‘purdah’. She, however, congratulated the people of Pakistan on PTI’s victory. Maneka stated that Imran Khan will protect oppressed women, orphans, and widows.
Her daughter’s inclusion in the party has raised the pertinent questions of nepotism. Imran Khan, himself, has always opposed the culture of nepotism.
Imran Khan while addressing his party members on Monday 6th August said, “We will be held accountable by our voters if we stick to conventional governance structure”. “Our struggle will create the future of Pakistan. The first phase of my 22-year-old struggle is completed, we are set for the second stage.”

Bushra Maneka is a spiritual guide from Pakpattan. Imran Khan married Bushra Maneka in small ceremony in February. Imran Khan revered Busra Bibi in high words in the interview ahead of the July 25th polls.
