Instability began after ‘Absolutely Not’: Shahbaz Gill

Taking note of the Opposition's press conference, SAPM on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill made some strong statements today during his press conference regarding the no-trust move and the current political instability in Pakistan.

The Opposition submitted the no-trust move against PM Khan as the political heat intensifies in Pakistan. Later, in a joint press conference, the Opposition comprising of PPP, PML-N, and JUI-F lashed out at PM Khan.

JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that previously Pakistan had no enemies. However, because of the PTI government, several countries are now against Pakistan. Similarly, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif recalled PM Khan’s Mailsi speech where he criticized the European Union.

“The language used against the European Union was inappropriate so much so that not a single word can be repeated here,” Shahbaz Sharif said.

Taking note of the Opposition’s press conference, SAPM on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill made some strong statements today during his press conference regarding the no-trust move and the current political instability in Pakistan. During the conference, he praised PM Khan’s courage in re-affirming Pakistan’s sovereignty, a feat which, according to the SAPM, PPP and PML-N failed to do.

“Many world powers prefer to see Pakistan in a state of instability. However, the real issue began after June 21, 2021,” Dr. Shahbaz Gill said while referring to PM Khan’s interview with the US-based media agency Axios.

“As a result, many things began unfolding in Pakistan,” he further added. To clarify, PM Khan’s blunt refusal to host US airbases had received praise as it was in stark contrast to previous norms of appeasing the US.

“When you make such strong claims, the strong countries make your life difficult,” the SAPM said, giving the example of inflation, commodity shortages. He also stated that countries who said “Absolutely Not” faced severe consequences.

Aftermath of Absolutely Not

“Imran Khan knows the most important thing is a country’s sovereignty,” the SAPM said. Furthermore, he narrated the chain of events that occurred after PM Khan’s refusal. Dr. Shahbaz Gill said foreign officials began meeting Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz, and major opposition leaders. Moreover, Bilawal Bhutto even went to the US. Later, the Opposition announced to topple the government and finally brought in the no-trust move.

“We know very well when all this began,” the SAPM said.
