He claims that he is subjected to this maltreatment because he belongs to the poor class and is not influential or powerful.

The leader of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf Jamshed Dasti accuses CTD and Intel of stripping his wife naked and beating his children.

Four-time MNA from South Punjab, Dasti claims his children and family were kept hostage for hours. Officials also beat them, alleged Dasti in his video message.

He claims that he is subjected to this maltreatment because he belongs to the poor class and is not influential or powerful. Dasti claims the officials took with them CCTV and mobile phones as well.

Meanwhile, he is in hiding after evading multiple attempts of arrest in cases related to 9th May 2023.

Following the incident of 9th May, 2023, he had refused to leave PTI and had vowed to stand with Imran Khan.

Last week, his wife Nazia Dasti was allowed to file his nomination papers from NA-175 and NA-176.

She also submitted her nomination papers. Multan bench of the Lahore High Court had ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan not to harass his wife while filing the papers. Earlier he had received protective bail from Lahore High Court.

In an online video statement, Mr. Dasti conveyed his appreciation for the court’s ruling, ensuring his followers that he would be rejoining them shortly.

Senior politician Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has called it a serious matter and demanded an official inquiry into the matter from the government. “This is a very serious situation, an impartial inquiry should be made by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. I will raise this issue in the Senate, God willing,” he said in his tweet.

Meanwhile, political commentator and media personalities Orya Maqbool Jan and Maleeha Hashmi have expressed shock at the incident.
