The chief of disgruntled extremist caste group Shri Rajput Karni Sena has announced to make a movie on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s mother. On Thursday, the fringe group announced that they will title the film, Leela ki Leela.
Addressing a Press conference in Chittorgarh, Govind Singh Khangarot, the district President informed that the film would be directed by Arvind Vyas.
“Bhansali has insulted our mother Padmavati, but we will ensure that he feels proud of the movie we will make. As our country gives the right to expression to everyone, we will ensure that this right is used to its fullest,” he added.
He further informed that the shooting of the movie would commence in the next 15 days. The movie will be shot across Rajasthan and will be released within the year.
The leaders also accused Bhansali of the recent attack on a school bus carrying 30 school children in Gurgaon. They demanded the authorities to punish Bhansali and in case of the failure, they are ready to accept any punishment.
The film after suffering months of agitation and obstacles was finally released on January 25th, 2018 worldwide.
Despite fierce protest and massive confrontation from various groups, the movie has been overwhelmingly successful at the foreign and local box-office on the first day of its release.
The movie collected a total of Rs.18 crore at the Indian cinemas on its first day of release. The movie is rated exceptionally well in the public reviews. Audiences have cherished the extraordinary performances of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the movie.
This is also been Shahid Kapoor’s biggest opening weekend for any of his films. It seems the controversy that delayed the film and prevented its release for so long has not affected the success of the film, much to the disgust of Karni Sena.
