In a very short time, Mahira Khan has established herself as the biggest actress in Pakistani cinema. Her first film Bol was credited with reviving the Pakistani film industry and her successive TV ventures “Humsafar” and “Shehr-e-Zaat” made her an overnight star. Since then, she’s become even more of an icon, with her L’Oreal ambassadorship landing her in Cannes, a major milestone for any actress let alone a Pakistani one. It is no surprise then, that Khan has been getting movie offers left and right. But interestingly the actress just disclosed to local media, that there’s one actor who’s name keeps popping up in reference to hers: Fahad Mustafa.
I have never worked with Fahad Mustafa,” Mahira said. “I really want to work with him but there just wasn’t any time. We’ve always wanted to work together. I can’t even begin to tell you the amount of projects the two of us have been offered together but the timing was never right.”
“But there’s mutual respect. I respect him, I like him a lot as an actor. I like that he supports people and it’s really imperative to me that a person should support others, and our industry for that matter,” added Mahira, “But I can’t figure out why he always calls me ‘baji‘.”
Given the pedigree of both the actors, it is quite surprising that the two have never collaborated together especially considering both have conquered Pakistani TV and films respectively. Khan for her part has been making waves at the box office with films like “Bol”, “Bin Roye”, “Verna” and most recently “7 Din Mohabbat In”. Fahad Mustafa has also made a name for himself as a talk show host, hosting the number one game show in Pakistan, “Jeeto Pakistan”. On the movies side Mustafa has easily become a force to be reckoned with at the box office and all his films from “Na Maloom Afraad”, “Na Maloom Afraad 2”, “Mah e Mir” and “Actor in Law” have been huge hits. He will be seen next in “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2”, also rumor has it, that Mahira’s frequent co-star Fawad Khan may make an appearance.
Hopefully the two will be able to work on a movie or TV project sooner than later.
