Marco Rubio calls for de-escalation between India, Pakistan

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephonic conversation with the officials in India and Pakistan, urging an immediate de-escalation and showing restraint after Pakistan launched a Bunyan Marsoos operation against India in the wee hours of Saturday.

The spokesperson of the US Department of State informed. “Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir earlier today. He continued to urge both parties to find ways to de-escalate and offered US assistance in starting constructive talks in order to avoid future conflicts,” the US State Department said in an official statement.

Rubio expressed concern over the rapid escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighboring countries and reiterated the readiness of Washington for mediation support diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further hostilities.

The latest phone call from the US Secretary of State arrives following Pakistan’s multi-pronged retaliatory attack on India in which targeted multiple military installations, including airfields and airbases. A day before Pakistan launched its retaliatory strikes on India, America’s JD Vance had said that stopping the India-Pakistan conflict is certainly out of the control of America.
