PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has joined Instagram to interact with her followers. She took over her Instagram account that her team managed previously. Maryam also posted a special note there. She said she would use this account to expand her casual interaction with the followers. Yet she will continue to express her political views on Twitter.
“Previously handled by my team, this account shall now be handled by me personally,” says Maryam Nawaz on the only post by her blue-ticked account. “I wish to keep it as apolitical as possible so you and I can have more human moments.” She added, “For my views related to politics, I will keep using my Twitter handle.”
Maryam Nawaz has been pretty inactive in the political landscape of Pakistan for quite some time. Perhaps, she is seeking other social media platforms to consolidate her public presence away from the political scene.
Currently, she has 139k followers on her Instagram account. “Difficulty is the name of an ancient tool created purely to help us define who we are.” A daughter, mother to 3 overgrown babies & a grandmother,” read her bio on Instagram. In the second post, she shared the cover page of the book ‘Manuscript Found In ACCRA’ by renowned writer Paulo Coelho. “There is only one prison, and that is your mind” she captioned the image.

Maryam Nawaz: a blend of grace and defiance
A score of observers attributed her long silence in the politics to the alleged deal between Sharif family and establishment. The spokesperson of PML-N asserted that her leader is under severe mental depression and stress due to cases against her family.
PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said that Maryam Nawaz is suffering from “severe mental stress” due to her father’s illness and treatment abroad, and hence, the PML-N Vice President has decided to avoid engaging in political activities for the time being.

Her graceful style code has charmed many of her female followers. She aspires to become the leader of the present generation. She resorted to unique means to protest judicial cases against her father, Mian Nawaz Sharif, and family.

Maryam Nawaz appeared before the National Accountability Bureau last year in July for the Avenfield reference. Her specially designed dress gained traction on social media.
She wore a black outfit with a picture of Nawaz Sharif. It had a slogan inscribed demanding the release of the former premier.
“Free Nawaz Sharif,” read a slogan on Maryam’s dress. A non-conformist move of Maryam Nawaz shook the people on social media. Even so, her detractors and advocates equally shared her picture; some censured her while others hailed her bold move.
Her black dress might be symbolic of her mourning against the imprisonment of former ousted premier Nawaz Sharif. Hina Butt, another activist of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, designed her dress.

Maryam Nawaz is famous for her elegant style statement. She always turns out well irrespective of the occasion. Be it her arrival from the UK or her first appearance before the NAB in the green dress. Even her Gucci footwear gained humongous attention on social media that she wore on return to Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz arrived in Pakistan adorned in expensive branded accessories that made it hard for people to believe that she would be content in jail without luxuries.
Perhaps, Maryam Nawaz is venturing to become a social media influencer too with her Instagram account.
