Maryam Nawaz orders inquiry into the killing of the boy: Punjab Government

On Thursday a young motorbike rider lost his life in a collision involving a vehicle from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s security convoy in the Chandowal area of Narowal district

CM Maryam Nawaz traveled to Kartarpur on Thursday with a copter, says the Punjab Government and denied the claims of Maryam Nawaz’s motorcade hitting and killing a boy at Narowal. The provincial Government has denied these accusations.

The spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the incident. The case has been registered and an inquiry has been started on the orders of Maryam Nawaz.

According to the district police officer (DPO), the vehicles were en route to Kartarpur for CM Maryam’s security arrangements when the mishap occurred. The DPO stated that the security squad’s vehicle collided with the motorcycle while attempting to overtake it.

The chief minister was in Kartarpur to address a gathering of pilgrims at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib on the occasion of the Baisakhi Mela.

The deceased rider’s body was moved to the Narowal district headquarters hospital, and an FIR was registered on behalf of the victim’s family. The DPO assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted, and appropriate legal action would be taken against those found responsible.

The victim’s cousin filed the case at Saddar police station, seeking justice for the family’s loss. In the FIR, he recounted that he was at his shop when he learned about the accident involving his cousin, Abu Bakar, who tragically succumbed to his injuries at the DHQ hospital.

Meanwhile, a boy identified as Abu Bakar was laid to rest in his native village following funeral prayers. DC Syed Hasan Raza said that a summary has been sent to the provincial government to provide financial assistance to the family of the victim.
