Maryam Nawaz sidelined, Shehbaz Sharif leads PML-N for PDM rally?

Earlier, reports claimed that Maryam Nawaz is preparing to take part in political activities and will most likely join the PDM gathering scheduled for August 29. However, as per recent updates, Shehbaz Sharif will lead PML-N without Maryam Nawaz.

Vice President of PML-N Maryam Nawaz will not take part in the upcoming Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally. Instead, the President of PML-N Shehbaz Sharif will lead the party in the rally scheduled for August 29th in Karachi.

Earlier, sources said that Maryam Nawaz will attend the PDM meeting on August 29 after testing negative for Covid. Sources also said that she is preparing to take part in political activities. However, according to the latest updates, Shehbaz Sharif will lead PML-N without Maryam Nawaz.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz is yet to release an official statement on this.

According to media reports, Shehbaz Sharif will meet various political and business personalities during the rally. Reports also said that the party prepared a schedule for Shehbaz Sharif for the PDM rally. The party also informed authorities in Karachi to begin preparations.

As per the schedule, representatives of PML-N in Karach will welcome Shehbaz Sharif at Jinnah International Airport. From the airport, he will leave for the PDM gathering. Sources also informed that important politicians and businessmen from Sindh will take part in the PDM rally.

Shehbaz Sharif will also hold a meeting with important members of PML-N in Karachi. Sources further confirmed that Maryam Nawaz will not take part in the upcoming PDM rally.

PDM restarts its anti-government campaign

Two days ago, Senior PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal held a PDM meeting. Former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, JUI-F leader Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Hafiz Hamdullah, Hamidullah, Sikandar Sherpao, and other officials attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the leaders decided to hold a public gathering in Karachi on August 29. In that gathering, PDM will discuss the political, internal, and economic situation of the country with the public.

“The three-year performance of the government, its corruption and incompetence will be brought to the notice of the nation, all the facts will be collected and a white paper will be issued on the performance of the government,” Khaqan Abbasi said.

Earlier this month, PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif held telephonic talks to renew the anti-government efforts of PDM. As per media sources, Nawaz Sharif instructed Shehbaz Sharif to step up efforts in their anti-government campaign.
