MG 7 unveiled

In China, the MG 7 was shown to enthusiastic crowds.

The MG 7 was unveiled in China to favourable reviews from spectators. The MG 5 and MG 6 sedans, as well as the full sedan lineup, feature MG’s assertive new design language.

Recent images of the MG 7 from Car News China (CNC) show how much it resembles contemporary European sports sedans.

Design

A sporty yet professional appearance is made possible by the long nose, an aggressive front bumper with huge aesthetic air vents, and a grille design that fits with the body panels.

The side features a stretched wheelbase, a sharp shoulder line, a design that is generally smooth, and a rearward-raking roofline that combines with a downward-sloping trunk lid to give the impression of a sportback.

Uni-V has an LED light bar around the back that is similar to those found on many contemporary high-end vehicles. With its substantial black diffuser and quad exhaust tips, the rear bumper appears overstyled.

Interior

The cabin also incorporates design ideas from contemporary luxury vehicles, like a sports steering wheel and a dash layout that is dominated by enormous screens. A premium appearance is possible with leather, brushed aluminium, and piano-black trim pieces.

Performance

The two MG 7 models will feature the following performance metrics:

  • The 300 VTGI is a 7-speed DCT-equipped 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that has 185 horsepower (hp) and 300 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
  • A 9-speed ZF automatic transmission is mated to the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 257 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque.
