Might appear as anchor on TV soon: Sheikh Rasheed

In one of his previous speeches, he said that he might not be contesting elections next time and hinted at retiring from politics but ensured PM Imran Khan that he will stand with him like a rock.

Sheikh Rasheed, the existing Interior Minister of Pakistan, hints at appearing as an anchor on the national TV most probably after Ramzan or Eid-ul-Fitr. He revealed his plan during a media interaction on Saturday while inaugurating a family park in Rawalpindi.

He did not share any further details regarding his plans of appearing as an anchorperson and what kind of show he will host. Sheikh Rasheed said that he is a political worker and hence he will continue to do this. Rasheed said fighting against the corrupt mafia is his mission. The Interior Minister said that it is his responsibility to end the politics of looters and plunderers in Pakistan.

Most probably he will be a part of the current affairs/news program to comment and share his analysis on the politics in Pakistan. He did not mention which television channel he will be joining. However, it came as a surprise to people. In one of his previous speeches, he said that he might not be contesting elections next time and hinted at retiring from politics but ensured PM Imran Khan that he will stand with him like a rock.

During his press conference, he also commented on the existing political turmoil in the country and shared the suggestion he had given to PM Imran Khan to save his government.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, in a news conference, said that the collaborators in the “foreign-funded conspiracy” should be charged with treason, and their political parties should be banned. He underlined that there were only four ways forward.

“Number one is that the establishment intervenes and holds early elections. Number two, the parties which conspired against the government in the “foreign-funded conspiracy” should be charged with treason and declared terrorist outfits. Third, if an early election is not called, all the members of the PTI should submit their formal resignation.”
