Ministry of technology will give 100,000 jobs: Shibli Faraz

Shibli Faraz said there is no denying that Pakistan's economy is "structurally and historically." According to Shibli Faraz, other countries like Bangladesh and Vietnam surpassed Pakistan's economy because Pakistan failed to diversify its exports.

Minister of Science and Technology Shibli Faraz claimed that his ministry alone will provide 100,000 job opportunities. He said that the government is working to bring modern technology to every sector. As a result, Pakistan will see thousands of job opportunities after two years.

Shibli Faraz made the claims during an interview with a private news channel. While discussing the failure of Pakistan’s politics, Shibli Faraz noted that the country failed to identify its problems.

“We did not identify our problems, neither did we accept them. Whether they be economical, or political,” Shibli Faraz said.

He also commented on Pakistan’s flawed economy. At 27:26 of the interview’s video, Shibli Faraz clearly said there is no denying that Pakistan’s economy is “structurally and historically flawed.” According to Shibli Faraz, other countries like Bangladesh and Vietnam surpassed Pakistan’s economy because Pakistan failed to diversify its exports. Pakistan only focused on the textile industry.

On this note, the host Nadeem Malik contradicted Shibli Faraz and said that Bangladesh generated all the revenue from the textile industry. In response, Shibli Faraz said the structure of Bangladesh’s economy is different.

Interestingly, earlier, Adviser to PM on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said that Pakistan’s exports witnessed the fastest growth rate in South Asia during November 2021. Taking to Twitter, Dawood claimed that the country’s exports grew by 33.5 percent in November as compared to Bangladesh’s 31.3 percent and India’s 26.5 percent growth.

Nevertheless, Shibli Faraz insisted that Pakistan failed to export high-value goods. However, he expressed hope that within two years, the country will see more opportunities, owing to the technological revolution.

Our Ministry will provide 100,000 jobs: Shibli Faraz

“If our Ministry does not create 100,000 jobs within two years, then you call me on your show and do whatever you want,” Shibli Faraz said to the host.

“Ministry of Science and Technology will provide 100,000 jobs in the private sector within two years,” Shibli Faraz stated.

Important to note, the PTI government is determined to bring a digital revolution within Pakistan. Earlier, President Dr Arif Alvi said the adoption of the latest technology and gearing up for the fourth industrial revolution was the best pathway for Pakistan to achieve the goals of prosperity.

He said being the fifth largest human resource in the world, it was important for Pakistan to increase its technological footprint.
