This December, returning to cinemas all over the world is the next installment in one of the most popular film franchises of all time.
Releasing on the 15th of December 2017, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, promises to be just as exciting (if not more) as the previous two installments, that Disney has released since it bought the franchise and brought it back to the big screen.
Disney bought the Star Wars franchise from George Lucas in 2012 for around $4 billion. The first movie Star Wars made under the Disney name was released in December 2015.
It was called the Star Wars: The Force Awakens and it went on to make just over $2 billion. Disney made half of its money back with just one movie. This is why the $4 billion deal has been described by many as the deal of the century.
Disney has also added Star Wars to their world-famous theme parks as well, which is helping them increase their revenue every year. The latest chapter in the movie series, The Last Jedi, has an intriguing trailer that has already received over 35 million views on YouTube.
The immense cast from The Force Awakens returns with Adam Driver reprising his role as the main antagonist, Kylo Ren and there is a highly anticipated return of Mark Hamill who will play the iconic Luke Skywalker once again. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Carrie Fisher all return for this movie as well.
Fans will be worried that this time around The Last Jedi will not be directed by J.J. Abrams (the director of The Force Awakens), since he had done such an amazing job of bringing back the franchise with a bang.

The director for this movie is Rian Johnson who has previously directed some episodes of the hit TV series Breaking Bad and the sci-fi action drama Looper.
This movie will mark the last time Carrie Fisher ever plays the career-defining role of Princess Leia as she sadly passed away soon after shooting her scenes for the film. The storyline for this movie seems to start right where we left off in the Force Awakens.
Rey is now training with Luke Skywalker and is still confused about her identity and she is struggling to find her place in the world. The mysterious Snoke makes an appearance in the trailer and seems to be driving Kylo Ren even further towards the dark side.
At one point the trailer also teases at the possibility of Kylo Ren and Rey forming an alliance. This movie promises to reveal some of the secrets about the past that audience members were curious about after having watched The Force Awakens.
The mysteries of the force will also be tackled in the upcoming epic. The Last Jedi is going to be the biggest movie of the month, possibly even the entire year. We can’t wait to buy a ticket and go watch this movie the day it’s released.
