Over 6000 policemen to be deployed for Imran Khan’s security after gun attack

Special security will surround the container of former prime minister Imran Khan during Azadi March in Rawalpindi.

PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan is due to arrive in Rawalpindi to lead the Azadi March. Following the horrific gun attack on the former premier in Wazirabad, strict measures are being taken for Imran Khan’s security.

According to the details, more than 6,000 policemen will be deployed for Imran Khan’s security. Sharpshooters will be deployed at the buildings on the route of the long march convoy, while the march will be monitored through CCTV and drone cameras.

Moreover, welcome camps will be established at Murree Road from tomorrow, while special security will surround the container of former prime minister Imran Khan during Azadi March in Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, reports have also surfaced that the KP government has dispatched 50 well-equipped, highly-trained Elite Force commandos to take over the security of Imran Khan. The KP police personnel deployed in and around the residence of the former premier, have strict orders to “independently decide and act” in case of any emergency situation to secure the life of Imran Khan.

Imran Khan’s assassination attempt

The former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, suffered injuries to his leg after being shot at in a protest march he was leading in Wazirabad in Punjab. Nine other people were also injured and one person died in the attack.

The police later released a video confession of a man they arrested who they say attempted to kill the former prime minister.

The assassination attempt on Imran Khan caused shock waves everywhere. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Pakistan Army, and other politicians and government leaders have condemned the attack and called for an immediate investigation into the matter. The attack was not only condemned by Pakistani political leaders, activists, and social media users but people from around the world have also expressed shock and concern.

Imran Khan is currently on the road to recovery. After the gun attack, Imran Khan has been addressing the participants of the march via video link on daily basis. He will join the march from Rawalpindi.
