Pakistan loses culinary queen ‘Zubaida Aapa’

Popular chef and media personality Zubaida Tariq passed away at the age of 72, late Thursday night after a brief illness in Karachi.

Family sources confirmed the saddening news and have requested to pray for the departed soul.

According to her family, the funeral prayers will be held in Sultan Masjid in Defence Housing Authority after Friday prayers.

Zubaida Tariq commonly known as ‘Zubaida Apa’ was a culinary expert. She hosted several widely viewed culinary shows and gave handy housekeeping tips on her show. Apart from hosting the TV program, she penned down several cookbooks as well.

Zubaida Tariq was a humble personality. She had a special place in the hearts of millions of her fans.

A massive number of followers including politicians and celebrities mourn her death.

She made her television debut in 1996 with a cooking show named ‘Dalda Ka Dastarkhwan’. The show soon gained huge popularity among people.

Zubaida Tariq was born to an educated family. Her family produced gems like Fatima Suriya Bajiya and Anwar Maqsood. Both the writers shared the bond of siblings with the deceased. Fatima Suriya Bajiya was her elder sister and Anwar Maqsood is her elder brother.
