Photos of ‘badass’ female KP ANF officers go viral

Well, those who think women in Pakistan are oppressed, photos of some ‘badass’ female officers of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) are enough to spurn their perception.

The photos, which look like a scene from Hollywood movie, were actually taken during a drug burning ceremony in Peshawar. These photos have since then gone viral.

Officer Rafia Baig and colleagues took these photos as part of a social media campaign to show how 4th industrial revolution is driven so much by perceptions and how social media is playing such an important role in creating these perceptions and breaking stereotypes.

Women make up more than fifty percent of the total population of Pakistan. Thanks to the reforms brought by Pakistan’s parliament, women can now get jobs which were previously considered a taboo for them.

From flying fighter planes to becoming officers in the Army, Pakistani women are now also protecting the youth from the menace of life-threatening drugs.

These photos might convince some drug traffickers to stop their activities before they become a target of one of their ‘charming bullets’.
