Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent prayers for the health of renowned scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel, who was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
On Sunday, PM Imran Khan, in a tweet sent best wishes for Maulana Jameel. “Praying for Maulana Tariq Jamil’s speedy and full recovery from Covid 19,” wrote Khan in a tweet.
Yesterday, Maulana Jameel had informed through his Twitter account that he was feeling unwell and that requested his followers for prayers for his health.

“Peace be upon you and God’s mercy For the past few days, I have been feeling unwell. Corona has tested positive. I have been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors, special prayers are requested from all lovers,” said Jameel in a tweet.
Prayers and wishes poured in for him on social media. Maulana Jameel is an Islamic scholar and is widely respected in Pakistan.
Back in July, Maulana Jameel had met PM Khan. Khan warmly welcomed Maulana Tariq Jameel and his delegation. A video circulated on social media showed Maulana Jameel with a wide smile, opening his arms for a hug.

In the meeting, PM Khan had informed the Maulana on the government’s strategy of poverty alleviation and welfare of the people. Special Assistant to PM Naeemul Haq late was also present on the occasion.

As part of a strategy to dismantle the extremist networks, the government has decided to introduce major reforms in the curriculum of over 30,000 Islamic schools or madrassas.
Maulana Jameel is a revered figure and has respectable relations with several politicians and other dignitaries of society. He is an acclaimed Islamic scholar and is popular in the entertainment circle of Pakistan.

His images with several celebrities, including Veena Malik, Shahid Afridi, and Feroze Khan have appeared on social media. He even met Bollywood’s superstar Amir Khan on a pilgrimage a few years ago.
