PM Khan’s Ehsaas Program
Ehsaas Program is a multi-dimensional poverty reduction program chalked out by Dr.Sania Nishtar. It aims to control the increasing poverty in Pakistan.
The focus of efforts in the Ehsaas Program is multi-sectorial. It intends to radically improve Pakistan’s progress towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Global Goals (Global Goals). The program initiated 134 new poverty-focused policy actions and programs.
Ehsaas is about the creation of a ‘welfare state’ by countering elite capture and leveraging 21st-century tools—such as using data and technology to create precision safety nets. It promotes financial inclusion and easy access to digital services.
Ehsaas supports the economic empowerment of women. It focuses on the central role of human capital for poverty eradication, economic growth, and sustainable development. It aims to overcome financial barriers to accessing health and post-secondary education.
