On Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted about the campaign named ‘Indian Chronicles‘ launched by EU disinfo lab, a non-profit organization, that exposed a 15-year old network that served and continues to serve Indian interests even today.
The tweet was not made from Prime Minister’s own account but rather came through the official Twitter handle of the Prime Minister’s Office. The tweet read “India’s 15-year disinformation campaign targeting Pakistan via 750+ fake media outlets, zombie NGOs & fake personas stands exposed through @DisinfoEU‘s investigation, as does its support for terror inside Pakistan through the dossier released on Nov 14.”

A few pictures from the BBC were also attached to the tweet. He also referred to India’s subversive activities to undermine democracies in the region. PM Imran Khan also highlighted the recent dossier submitted by GoP to UN on India’s state terrorism in Pakistan.

Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi also tweeted about it and said that this worldwide Indian propaganda against Pakistan does not come as a surprise and even puts the Goebbels to shame.

‘Indian chronicles’ requires global attention
In addition to this, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan expressed grave concern over India’s unprecedented propaganda to undermine Pakistan.
The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Zahid Hafeez, in a media briefing in Islamabad today, said that Pakistan had already exposed India’s malicious motives through the dossier, which was issued last month. This campaign does nothing but substantiates Pakistan’s position in front of the world.
He further added that Pakistan urges India to prioritize their in-state issues of human rights violation, poverty, and many others, instead of focusing too much on destabilizing Pakistan.
Going on, he stated that the exposé on Indian disinformation issued by the EU disinfo lab requires global attention and that India’s subversive activities against Pakistan have been ignored for far too long.
Towards the end, Mr. Zahid said that Pakistan calls upon the international community, Human rights organizations, the United Nations, and the global media to hold India accountable.
15-year saga of Indian misinformation operations
The ‘Indian Chronicles’ campaign was launched yesterday, on EUdisinfo’s official website. The disinformation campaign exposes how India has been carrying out fifth-generation warfare against Pakistan for 15 years.
The operation was launched by the Shrivastra Group and amplified by the ANI group, which began in 2005.
The extensive report covers vast propaganda machinery, which leaves investigators startled multiple times within the report.
Alexandre Alaphilippe, executive director of EUdisinfolab, astonishingly said “It is the largest network we have exposed.”
The campaign reveals the desperate lengths India went to, in order to undermine Pakistan Internationally.
Indian Chronicles’ key objective is to undermine Pakistan internationally.
To do so, they resurrected dead NGOs at the UN.
They impersonated the EU.
They laundered content produced by fake media to real media – and reached millions in South-Asia & across the world. (2/n)

The investigation further showed how even the world’s largest and first world organization, United Nations Human Rights, for 15 years, played into the hands of a group of coordinated NGOs that worked for Indian interests. Even European Politicians were used to create institutions that worked against Pakistan.

The EUdisinfolab dedicated the report to the late Professor Louis B. Sohn, considered as the “grandfather of international human rights law in the United States.” The report stated that his name had been hijacked by malicious actors depicted in the report.
The network was so large that the report reads, “Members of our team all share a common trait: an eye for the fake and a drive to uncover it. But never before in our investigations have we been so astonished at the multiplication of layers of fake. Indian Chronicles resurrected dead media, dead think-tanks, and NGOs. It even resurrected dead people.”
The investigation revealed that more than 750 fake news oulets have been operating in 119 countries, working solely for Indian Interests.
The malicious mission for the 15-year propaganda was to discredit Pakistan and improve India’s image, internationally.
