PML-N loses two votes in Punjab Assembly

After the latest developments, the tides are in PTI's favor.

PML-N has now lost two votes in the Punjab Assembly. This is a major achievement for PTI as its position will considerably get stronger in upcoming Punjab by-polls.

The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly has accepted the resignation of Faisal Niazi, meanwhile, Muhammad Kashif was disqualified on the basis of a fake degree.

In May, PML-N dissident member of Punjab Assembly Faisal Khan Niazi submitted his resignation to the Punjab Assembly speaker, saying that he was resigning with joy and conscience and now he has nothing to do with PML-N politics. Now, the Punjab speaker has accepted the resignation.

As for PML-N MPA Muhammad Kashif, he was disqualified from PP-241 Bahawalnagar for holding a fake degree. Advocate of Supreme Court M Azhar Siddique revealed that both the Islamabad High Court and Supreme Court disqualified Muhammad Kashif.

Win for PTI?

Currently, all eyes are on the Punjab polls which are scheduled to be held on the 17th of July. The stage is set for PTI and PML-N who will compete for governance in Punjab.

The polls are scheduled on 20 seats of the Punjab Assembly where PTI had won in the 2018 general elections and its MPAs had later defected to the PML-N and faced disqualification.

PTI had bagged five additional seats in the Punjab Assembly after the ECP issued notifications of reserved seats, giving the party an edge over its rival, the PML-N. This increased the seats for PTI to 163 from 158, making it a neck and neck contest with PML-N. After the latest developments, the tides are in PTI’s favor.
