PTI to disqualify rebellious MNAs

The show-cause notice demands MNAs to submit an unconditional apology and rejoin the party ranks within seven days. Failing to do so will result in legal action against them.

PTI has taken strict action against the MNAs who joined hands with the Opposition. The party has served a show-cause notice to 14 PTI MNAs that went against PM Khan.

The MNAs who received the notices include Raja Riaz, Dr. Muhammad Afzal Khan, Nawab Sher, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Ahmed Hussain Deharr, Abdul Ghafar Wattoo and Noor Alam Khan.

The show-cause notice demands MNAs to submit an unconditional apology and rejoin the party ranks within seven days. Failing to do so will result in legal action against them. However, if the MNAs wish to leave the party, then they must resign.

“TV interviews have proved that you have left the party and therefore a notice is being issued to under article 63 (1) (A),” the notice said.

Furthermore, the lawmakers may give a reply to the show-cause notice and have a personal hearing before Imran Khan on or before 2 pm on March 26, 2022 (Saturday). PTI Secretary General Asad Umar served the show-cause notice.

“You are allowed to have an opportunity of hearing before the Head of the Parliamentary Party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the National Assembly and explain as to why a declaration may not be issued against you, for getting you de-seated from membership of the National Assembly of Pakistan, in compliance of the constitutional provisions,” the notice read.

Lately, the PTI dissidents have caused quite the storm in Islamabad. Apart from their open revolt against PM Khan, there are allegations against them of accepting bribes from the Opposition.

PTI leaders urge MNAs to repent

PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan took to Twitter to confirm the news. He also urged the MNAs to make amends, which is better than public humiliation. Furthermore, he told them to donate the money received from the Opposition.

To clarify, ever since the MNAs went against PM Khan, the MNAs’ supporters from their respective constituencies have protested against them.

“Many days still left. Come back on the right path,” the Senator urged the MNAs.”If you have taken money, open an orphanage and avoid being a political orphan,” he further added.

Needless to say, while PTI leaders are still seething with anger at the “turn-coats”, they have repeatedly asked them to change their ways.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that we still request people to return as “doors to repentance are open.”

Similarly, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid in yesterday’s press conference appealed to the MNAs to reconsider their decision.

“I appeal to them to return [to PTI],” he said. “All those who have been sold should return to the party,” he added, assuring them that “no one will say anything to you”.
