Last year, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) found itself in the midst of a heated controversy following the release of a tribute video celebrating the nation’s cricket achievements. The video meant to honor Pakistan’s cricketing triumphs, ignited outrage as it omitted the iconic figure of Imran Khan, the cricket legend turned politician who led Pakistan to its historic 1992 World Cup victory.

The exclusion of Imran Khan from the initial video segment triggered a wave of criticism and impassioned discussions across social media platforms. PCB was forced to include Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, and Sarfaraz Ahmed in the new version.

Released on Pakistan’s Independence Day, the tribute video was intended to highlight the stellar accomplishments of Pakistani cricketers over the years. However, the absence of Imran Khan, a prominent figure in the country’s cricketing history, quickly overshadowed the intended message of celebration. The controversy gained swift momentum, propelling the issue to the top of Twitter’s trending topics.
