Salman Khan strikes Rs.450 crores deal as he returns to host Big Boss 14

The industry insiders added that Salman Khan has upped the price of each episode to Rs. 20 crores. In the last season of Big Boss, Salman Khan charged Rs. 15.5 crore per episode. The actor's deal with the makers of Big Boss worth Rs.450 crores for the new season.

Bollywood’s leading Khan, Salman Khan, has struck a whopping Rs.450 crores deal with the producers of Big Boss. The actor is expected to charge INR 200mn for each episode of Big Boss 14.

India media critics have called it a mighty lucrative deal for the actor’s small-screen stint. They added that despite the drama, catfights and controversies, the episodes of the reality show that are broadcasted on weekends in which Salman Khan’s appears, garner the highest TRP records.

The industry insiders added that Salman Khan has upped the price of each episode to Rs. 20 crores. In the last season of Big Boss, Salman Khan charged Rs. 15.5 crore per episode.

“While the three-month stint works out to Rs 480 crore, the makers and Khan agreed to seal the deal at Rs 450 crore. The amount is inclusive of his fees for promos and virtual press conferences.

The producers at Endemol are willing to pay the remuneration as they know Salman is the primary reason for the show’s high TRPs,” said a source to the Indian publication.

Analysts have anticipated that if the makers decided to extend the show this year too – then the remuneration of the actor will be re-negotiated and the actor might end up roping in more profits from his small-screen stint.

Salman Khan and Big Boss 14

Salman Khan will be returning as the host for the fourteenth edition of Big Boss set to begin in October. The Big Boss 14 will be a 12-week show, but the makers might decide to extend it. Earlier, there were reports that Khan would be recording the episodes at his Panvel Farmhouse with a separate team.

Now, Khan will be working traditionally since shooting activities have resumed in India following the uplift of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

Salman Khan’s Panvel Farm House is a 150-acre plot which has 3 bungalows, a swimming pool, and a gym. According to the Forbes 2018 list of Top-Paid 100 Celebrity Entertainers in the world, Khan was the highest-ranked Indian with 82nd rank with earnings of $37.7 million.

Meanwhile, Big Boss is the most-watched reality show in India and Pakistan as well. Salman Khan took over the show as the host in its fourth season in 2011- and TRP of the show went dramatically up.

In April this year, Salman Khan had launched his YouTube channel with a rap song ‘Pyar Karona’. The Bollywood superstar had penned down and sung a song on coronavirus.

His YouTube channel is named ‘Being Salman Khan’. The song was shot and edited at Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse where he is self-isolating himself during the lockdown.

Hussain Dalal has penned the song along with Salman Khan, while Sajid and Wajid have composed it. However, this was not the first time he has amused his followers with his vocals, he has earlier tried his hands-on with songs like Main Hoon Hero Tera, Tu hi Tu Har Jaga, and Hangover.
