Sanghar boy leaves social media in tears with appeal for rainwater drainage in Sindh

A boy hailing from Sanghar can be seen pleading to PPP chairman Bilawal to remove the rainwater from his village after his rooster died from drinking the contaminated water.

A young boy from Sanghar whose family has been devastated by the recent floods calls out the head of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in a video that has gone viral on social media on Saturday. The boy pleaded for the removal of the rainwater from Sanghar after the recent floods as his rooster lost its life by drinking the contaminated water.

The video highlights the failure of both the provincial and federal governments to let things get to this point. In the video the child angrily says “The old Pakistan was better for us,” showcasing his frustration.

While holding the dead rooster in his hands, the boy fuming over the authorities claimed that if the water is not taken care of and removed from his village, his family members and others residing in the village may die after drinking the very same contaminated water.

Many villages in Sanghar remain partially flooded even though weeks have passed since the initial flooding leading to the destruction of property, crops, and possessions. The village has limited access to relief provided by the government which includes clean drinking water.
