Shaheen Shah Afridi puts Imran Khan on his Twitter DP

Several former cricketers including Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Muhammad Hafeez, Ramiz Raja, and Saeed Anwar have spoken up against the arrest of Imran Khan.

Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi changed his Twitter display picture of a meeting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The pacer changed his profile picture of his meeting with Imran Khan. He is the first current Pakistani cricketer to have expressed solidarity with former cricketer and Prime Minister Imran Khan. The cricketer also penned down a message calling for peace.

“Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Momino ki apas me aik dosre se mohabbat or hamdardi ki misaal aik jism ki tarah hai. Jab uska koi hissa takleef me hota hai, to sara jism us takleef ko mehsoos kerta hai.” Bus ye yad rakhna hai k Pakistan hai, to hum hain. #Peace,” said Shaheen Shah Afridi.

People are appreciating Shaheen Shah Afridi for speaking up for Imran Khan and expressing solidarity with him.

Several former cricketers including Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Muhammad Hafeez, Ramiz Raja, and Saeed Anwar have spoken up against the arrest of Imran Khan.

Shoaib Akhtar had criticized the way he was manhandled and asked the authorities to respect national hero. Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis said they are always standing behind their skipper.

International celebrities are also expressing solidarity with Imran Khan. Some have even asked Twitter owner Elon Musk to make special arrangements to help people use Twitter which has been banned by the Government of Pakistan. Some have asked to start special services in Pakistan like Starlink to help people access Twitter in Pakistan.

The arrest of Imran Khan is reverberating across the world. Many Islamic scholars have prayed for the release and safe return of Imran Khan. Pakistan is facing internet disruption for the past two days. The government has allegedly banned Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube in Pakistan.

The internet is brimmed with calls for the safe release of Imran Khan and other party members.
