Sher Afzal Marwat slaps his bodyguard

Sher Afzal Marwat, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), finds himself embroiled in a fresh controversy after a video capturing him striking an individual during a party rally in Peshawar surfaced online.

In the footage, the lawmaker can be seen delivering a slap to the man while surrounded by a crowd of party supporters.

Expressing clarification regarding the viral video, the PTI legislator stated that the individual in question was his “personal guard” and that he slapped him because he was attempting to push away party workers.

“In light of security concerns, my guard was urging me to enter the car,” the politician explained, noting that he was trying to deter the guard from pushing away party supporters and preventing them from approaching him.

“This was not the first instance of the PTI lawmaker engaging in physical altercations. A well-known incident from the past saw him involved in a heated altercation with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Afnan Ullah Khan during a live television show in September of last year.

Subsequent to the altercation, the PML-N senator filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Marwat.

During the altercation, both individuals exchanged heated words before Marwat initiated physical contact by assaulting the senator. Initially, a confrontation ensued with shoving, eventually escalating to slaps and punches being exchanged between the two.

It was only through the intervention of the television show crew that the altercation was brought to an end, with both politicians being separated.
