Pak vs India: A historic cricket rivalry?
Tickets selling out left many fans disappointed as they were excited to watch the match between Pakistan and India. The two countries historically share a hostile relationship and a cricket match between them is intriguing to fans as it is another arena for competition.
Players from both teams routinely face intense pressure to win. Moreover, extremist fans also threaten players after a cricket defeat.
On the other hand, Pak vs India matches offer opportunities for cricket diplomacy as a means to improve diplomatic relations.
The two sides played a total of 199 times. Pakistan won 86 matches compared to India’s 70 victories. However, India has a better record in ICC tournaments. Pakistan is yet to win a match against India in T20 World Cup.
