Twitter slams Abid Sher Ali, Rana Sanauallah for their misogynistic remarks against PTI female workers

News Desk |

The senior leaders from PML-N, Abid Sher Ali and Rana Sanaullah, passed derogatory remarks on the female supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf in a press conference on Monday. The comments came after Imran Khan’s historic political gathering held at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on 29th, April 2018.

Both the leaders are drawing ire from the people and other senior leaders as social media are abuzz with condemnation posts and tweets shaming the culture of the misogyny in the ruling party PMLN.

In a Press Conference, Rana Sanaullah said, “The women who attended the rally were not from honorable families because their dance moves implied where they had actually come from.”

Senior leaders including Imran Khan, Aitzaz Ahsan, Shireen Mazari, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Syed Ali Raza, Khurram Sherzaman and other Twitter users bashed the senior leadership for their misogynistic remarks.

They also demanded Maryam Nawaz Sharif should take action against both the politicians, unfortunately, Ms. Nawaz is yet to respond to the controversy.

PML-N disowned the statement of Rana Sanaullah while Shahbaz Sharif issued a general apology on their behalf.

Female journalists have announced to boycott Abid Sher Ali and Rana Sanaullah until they apologize. They said it is the consequence of the scanty presence of robust female politicians in PMLN.

Abid Sher Ali on Friday 27th April 2018 fought with PTI leader Shireen Mazari during a budget presentation in the National Assembly.

PMLN politicians including Abid Sher Ali surrounded PTI leader Shireen Mazari to while she was protesting against the budget.

Shireen Mazari tried to save herself as she warned Sher Ali to not to touch her. Murad Saeed soon came to rescue Mazari that turned into a scuffle.

Previously, former Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif too passed misogynistic remarks on Shireen Mazari when he called her a ‘tractor trolley’ during an assembly session.
