An agreement was signed by the Marriott International and Imarat Group of Companies to bring the first franchise of Residence Inn by Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott in Pakistan. Mr. Shafiq, the chairman of Imarat Group of Companies, Mr. Ziad Abi Raad, the Director of Lodging Developing Middle East and Pakistan for Marriott International signed the agreement.
The attendees of the event included President Advisory Board IIPS Lt. Gen. (R) Haroon Aslam, and the Group Directors of Graana, Mr. Sharjeel A. Ehmer, Mr. Farhan Javed, Mr. Arslan Javed, and Mr. Taimoor Abbasi.

“When Conde Nast Traveller magazine placed Pakistan at the top of their list of places to visit, little did they know that this was a part of the greater vision of the Imarat Group all these years,” expressed Chairman Imarat Group of Companies, Mr. Shafiq Akbar at the event.

This will increase the number of modestly priced hospitality options in the country and bring a much-needed quantum leap to the hotel and tourism industries in Pakistan. We continue to seek opportunities to grow our brand portfolio in Pakistan, where there continues to be a demand for quality hotel accommodation to support the growth of the country’s tourism sector,” stated the Director of Lodging Developing Middle East and Pakistan for Marriott International Mr. Ziad Abi Raad at the event.
The aforementioned hotels would offer high-quality accommodation and services to the people who decide to reside there. The projects are located in Islamabad and will start functioning from July 2023.

The Residence Inn by Marriott will be located in DHA Phase II, Islamabad. It would offer 100 suites and studios comprising separate working, sleeping, and living areas including kitchens.
Courtyard by Marriott will be situated at a location that connects Islamabad International Airport with the main Islamabad and diplomatic enclave.
