Ringworm. This skin infection is caused by a fungus which thrives on dead tissues like the skin, nails, and hair. Ringworm is a fungus which causes both jock itch and athlete’s foot that appears anywhere else on the body.

 

Ringworm may appear bumpy or raised and has a red color outside its ring. Additionally, this infection is highly contagious and can be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact or from contact with pets. 

Prevention of Fungal Infection

Many fungal infections can be prevented by taking certain precautionary actions. For instance, to reduce your risk of developing the athlete’s foot, then you must keep your feet clean and dry. 

 

On the other hand, to reduce the risk of vaginal yeast infection for women, then it is important to wear breathable underwear or avoiding the usage of scented sprats or powders, then you need to practice good hygiene.
