World’s leading sports brand, Puma, signs Asif Ali as brand ambassador

Asif Ali has become the first Pakistani batsman to be signed as the brand ambassador for Puma, the world’s third-largest sports manufacturer. Puma is already sponsoring Virat Kohli, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, and New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum.

The world’s third-largest sports manufacturer, Puma, has signed Pakistan’s batter Asif Ali as its brand ambassador. Asif Ali has become the first Pakistani batsman to be signed as the brand ambassador by the sports brand.

Puma is already sponsoring a number of international batsmen including Virat Kohli, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, and New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum.

Asif Ali is the latest Pakistani cricketer to be signed by any sportswear company. Earlier, wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan and skipper Babar Azam were signed by cricket equipment manufacturing company, Gray-Nicolls. Cricketer Asif Ali also announced the deal on his Twitter account.

Dubbed as the finisher, Pakistan’s Asif Ali has been voted as the ICC player of the month for October. Ali earned the title after his match-winning performances in the matches against New Zealand and Afghanistan.

Asif Ali’s remarkable performance

Asif Ali scored 27 runs off 12 balls in the game against New Zealand with the help of three sixes. Meanwhile, in the match against Afghanistan, he hit four sixes helping the team to score 24 runs off 12 balls. He was declared the player of the match in the match against Afghanistan.

Asif Ali racked immense appreciation from the entire cricket fraternity for his unbelievably astounding performance. He proved his selection rights for the T20 World Cup squad and silenced his naysayers. The cricketer had a strike rate of 273.68.

ICC Voting Academy member Irfan Pathan said Asif Ali helped Pakistan win and enter into the semifinals. “Although he scored considerably less than other two nominated players, the contribution he made and the pressure situations from where he snatched the victories made all the difference,” added Pathan.

Earlier, the Pakistan cricket team had pledged to dedicate the victory to the late daughter of Asif Ali if they win the T20 World Cup. 19-months old daughter of Asif Ali had lost her life to blood cancer back in 2019. She was diagnosed with fourth-stage cancer and could not survive. Asif Ali has revealed the team will dedicate the T20 World Cup victory to his daughter.
