In a bizarre incident, a Russian Youtuber had set fire on his luxurious Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S in a protest against the German car manufacturer.
A Russian content creator, who has 5.06 million subscribers on his channel at the time of this writing, burnt down his Mercedes Benz AMG GT 63 S luxurious vehicle just because he was annoyed at the German automaker.
It’s reported that Mikhail Litvin, also known as Misha, took this ‘extreme step’ after being dragged to the local dealerships several times for different types of faults the vehicle developed. Litvin was infuriated by the service offered by Mercedes. Therefore, the only escape he could think of from the constant frustrating visits to the auto repairing labs was to set fire to his almost USD 350,000 worth Mercedes.
Recording the entire event, Mikhail is seen driving the vehicle to a wet, grassy field somewhere on the outskirts of the city. In the video, the content creator can be seen getting out of the car, opening the trunk and taking out multiple containers of gasoline. The almost 7-minute long video also shows Mikhail dousing the luxury vehicle in gasoline before setting it on fire with a lighter.
The YouTube video captioned “I thought for a long time what to do with my Shark after the conflict with Mercedes… In my opinion, the idea is FIRE! That’s all … The end … They * I’m not happy …” (Translated from Russian), in no time received millions of views from all over the world.
In just two days, Litvin’s video on YouTube received 1,13,78,352 views and one million likes. The viral video posted on YouTube on October 24, is still trending on the internet. Currently, it sits at 14,457,369 views with more than 1.1 million likes and 62,000 dislikes. The content creator received 120,507 Comments with the most popular being “Tell Nawai that the best video for his song has been filmed …” (Translated from Russian). It received 64K likes. While some people appreciated the YouTuber for his creativity, others criticised him heavily for wasting thousands of dollars.
Several people were left shocked by the bizarre and dangerous stunt. “How could you?” asked one person in the comments section. “American bloggers smash iPhones – Russian bloggers burn Mercedes,” another remarked.
“The ad revenue probably generated enough money to buy 2 more,” a user believed.
Michael Litvin, a vlogger based out of Russia, encountered issues with his new car and took to the dealership at least five times. According to Michael, the dealerships refused to entertain his requests every time he shared his problems with the Mercedes agents. After purchasing the brand-new Mercedes AMG GT 63 S, the vehicle, according to the frustrated user, broke down at least five times – but each time the repairs were not sufficient to permanently get rid of the problem.
Subsequently, he took a drastic step, stunned millions of viewers – and burnt down his luxury sports vehicle in the middle of the empty field (presumably somewhere in Russia), in order to send a message across to the German automaker Mercedes-Benz.
All in all, the car spent more than 40 days in repair, and in one of the services, the turbine was changed with a new one being ordered from Germany, reports local website VC.ru.
Aa per the reports, after the latest breakdown, the dealership stopped answering Michael Litvin’s calls.
