Faisal Edhi, the head of one of Pakistan’s largest charity groups, the Edhi Foundation, has tested positive for coronavirus, reported local media on Tuesday.

According to reports, Edhi is in Islamabad at the moment and had insisted on being tested since he had been on the ground working with patients. His family will also undergo a test for the virus as well.

Edhi had travelled to Lahore and then to Islamabad, where he met Prime Minister Imran Khan and donated Rs.10 million on behalf of his organisation. His family told the media that he had insisted on COVID-19 test and the result came today as positive.

He also saw Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and other senior staff members of the PM and CM.
Moreover, Edhi’s son, Saad Edhi told media, everyone who had come in contact with him will be tested for the virus. According to his test reports, he had no symptoms of the virus.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Dr Faisal Sultan, the prime minister’s focal person on coronavirus, said he will meet the premier in the evening tonight and apprise him of the situation. “I will speak to the prime minister about this,” Sultan said. “I will make recommendations by keeping in mind the ongoing situation and spread of the virus through contact. ”
The final decision to take the test or not rests with the prime minister, Sultan added.

It is worth mentioning that recently Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55, was tested positive for COVID-19. He was moved to intensive care in hospital after his coronavirus symptoms ‘worsened’.
President Donald Trump was tested twice. Both time he tested negative for COVID-19. The White House last month said it would begin conducting temperature checks on people who come in close contact with Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
