Honda unveils Passport 2022 with new off-roader project

Japanese auto manufacturer Honda has unveiled the all-new Passport 2022, with a much bolder and squarer build. The company for the first time has launched Passport TrailSport Rugged Roads Project, with a focus on off-roading, with interesting features.

Solving the complaints of the majority of its users in the past, the Japanese auto manufacturer Honda has launched Honda Passport 2022.

As every brand is now focusing on going all out with their Sports Utility Vehicle, Honda left no stone unturned as Passport got updated for 2022, along with a new off-roader TrailSport trim of the car.

Overall, the Honda Passport 2022 now has a bolder front end, thanks to a chunkier grille and squarer proportions, and its front and rear bumpers look more rugged, while the TrailSport takes it even further with an exclusive 18-inch wheel and tire combination, with even wider front and rear tracks to improve stability.

The Passport is equipped with Honda Development Package, seen otherwise in Honda Ridgeline. The HDP includes a unique grille, black fender flares, specific wheels, and an HDP graphic on the rear fenders.

All AWD Passport models have 8.1-inches of ground clearance and can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. All trims also get 50.5 cubic feet of cargo space and a power tailgate.

Let us go through some of the other features for the new Passport 2022.

Engine and Transmission

The SUV runs on a 280-hp 3.5-liter V-6 with nine-speed automatic transmission for all models. The standard models of the car come in Front-Wheel drive, but it can be upgraded to All-Wheel drive for some extra charges.

The front-drive model is expected to run up to 20 miles-per-gallon (mpg) in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. A Passport with all-wheel drive does comparatively less, with ratings of 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, Car and Driver wrote.

The i-VTM4 torque-vectoring system, which is standard on the TrailSport and Elite, is now optionally available on the EX-L as well.

Interior and Infotainment

Whether it is the front seats or the rear ones, the Passport is a very comfortable and roomy car. The front seats are wide and comfortable, with handy accessories that add to the utility. The back seats are also roomy and allow the Honda Passport to transport up to a total of five people.

“There is 41 cubic feet of storage space behind the rear seat, which held 15 of our carry-on suitcases”, Car and Driver wrote in its review.

Other features including a 115-volt outlet, built-in navigation, an upgraded audio system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless phone charging will have to gain access by buying the top-tier Touring and Elite trims.

Safety

“Every model has a host of driver-assistance technology, such as forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking. However, the base model isn’t available with blind-spot monitoring,” the blog read.
