After four days of its release, Amir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’ has bagged Rs 31.31 million on the box office and it’s still counting. While the gurus in the industry predict the movie will end up in the Rs 150 million club.
Featuring Amir Khan and Zaira Waseem in the lead roles, the trailers of the movie received 18 million views on Youtube till its post-Diwali release on last Thursday.
Perhaps the movie constituted all the ingredients of success. Having Amir Khan- the biggest name in the Bollywood and his wife, Kiran Rao as the producer of the movie, it was rightfully predicted to be another hit after “Dangal”.
The movie is based on the daring struggles of mother Najma and daughter Insiya. The movie is a bold and sensitive portrayal of domestic abuse. To escape the plights of her life, and pushed by her daughter Insiya, Najma finally decides to take a divorce from her abusive and violent husband.

Insiya, 14-year-old girl from a middle-class family faces fierce opposition from her father in pursuing her dream of becoming a singer.
Insiya is also the girl who has got an amazing singing talent. Between the optimistic hopes of becoming a singer one day while caught up in the harsh challenges of her life, she found a mentor in musician Shakti Kumar (Amir Khan).
Musician Shakti Kumar is also going through a bad phase in his musical career. After listening to her voice, he vows to introduce this new artist to the world, who is unwilling for a public appearance.

Amir Khan as a musician found a voice for his composition that was long been rejected. Together they produce a song that made the girl a singing sensation.
After “Dangal” Zaira Waseem and Amir Khan have again come together in “Secret Superstar”.
The movie has been rated well by audiences and critics alike. The movie, however, is facing competition on box office with other Hindi movies like “Golmaal” of Ajay Devgan.
In the recent past, Amir Khan has been producing hit movies bagging huge profits. His ‘PK’ in 2014 earned Rs 792 crore profit from its worldwide screening. It was the third-highest total for any Indian film.
‘Dhoom 3′ again featuring Amir Khan along with Katrina Kaif, earned Rs 585 crore making it the sixth-biggest total for an Indian film. His “3 idiots” earned Rs 395 crore making it the 11th biggest total for an Indian movie.

Secret Superstar, however, seems to be in middle, but that would be too early to say.
The movie is still grossing huge profits and is expected to bag at the faster rate in the coming days.
