‘Won’t say Pakistan murdabad, instead Hindustan murdabad’: Kashmir activist Babar Qadri gunned down

Babar Qadri, a Kashmiri local court advocate was killed last week after his explosive statements chanting "Hindustan Murdabaad" on an Indian television show.

A Jammu and Kashmir advocate, Babar Qadri was shot by unidentified attackers last week on Thursday in Srinagar in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) after his explosive statements where he chanted out “Hindustan Murdabaad” in an Indian television show after the anchor had insisted on him saying “Pakistan Murdabaad”

Babar remained calm and was patient and did not respond to the anchors preposterous demands of saying “Pakistan Murdabaad” and when pushed into a corner Babar fought back against the anchor and shouted “Hindustan Murdabaad”.

Babar: “Kashmiris are bleeding, you are enjoying”

The debate taking place on Indian television show was regarding an attack that occurred in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar shortly before Eid Ul Azha. The debate was joined by a number of panelists alongside local court advocate Babar Qadri.

Babar explicitly demanded an end to the illegal occupation by India in Kashmir and called out “end occupation” on the television show. Pointing towards the Indian anchor and denoting the general Indian population he said “Kashmiris are bleeding, you are enjoying” as he demanded an end to the illegal occupation.

Babar Qadri was renowned for his aggressive stance on Kashmir and its illegal occupation by India. He was a strict critic of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) policies which paved the way for Kashmir’s illegal occupation and was a strong proponent of following the UNSC resolutions to resolve the Kashmir issue.

Pakistan seeks investigation as extra judicial killings continue in IIOJK

Pakistan demands justice for the killing of Kashmiri lawyer and seeks an independent investigation into the killing that occurred quite conveniently shortly after Babar’s aggresive stance on the Indian television show.

“Another voice critical of Indian atrocities and human rights violations in IIOJK has been silenced through an extra-judicial murder,” said Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri.

“The world community must take immediate action for investigation of unabated extra-judicial killings of innocent Kashmiris in IIOJK through an independent international body,” he stated.
