The country, which was the front-line ally was either stigmatized with the double game or responsible for the creation of the ‘Frankenstein Monster’ and ironically attacked by its own allied forces. The state of Pakistan was sandwiched between two opposing forces: the allied and radicals.

27th December marked the 224th birthday of Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan, famously known by his pen name, ‘Ghalib’. He was born in 1797, in erstwhile India that was ruled by the Mughal Empire, shortly before the British arrived. Ghalib wrote in both Urdu and Persian languages.

Pakistan is set to send a medical team to Afghanistan to provide, install and maintain medical equipment at three of its funded hospitals in Jalalabad, Logar and Kabul, as part of the humanitarian assistance to the war-stricken country.
