Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan’s insensitive comments

Back in 2020, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan, when he was the Punjab provincial minister for Information and Culture, had received massive backlash on social media for passing insensitive and hurtful remarks against differently-abled people.

While warning the shopowners for hoarding masks and sanitizers or any other product needed to protect from the pandemic coronavirus in a press conference he ended up calling differently-abled people a god’s punishment and misquoted verses from Quran in a press conference.

He was trying to fear the miscreants for illegal hoarding and artificially pulling up the prices of the commodities from the wrath of God.

Soon, PTI’s federal minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari took to her Twitter account and slammed Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan in a tweet. Later he issued an apologetic video, in which he clarified that he did not intend to hurt the sentiments of disabled people.
