FIA summons Tasneem Haider for investigation in Arshad Sharif murder case

Earlier, Tasneem Haider – who was claimed to be the spokesperson of PML-N – alleged that the assassination plots against slain senior journalist Arshad Sharif were prepared by PML-N in London.

The Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) has summoned Tasneem Haider Shah to its headquarters for the investigation into the murder of the renowned journalist Arshad Sharif.

The senior journalist and former ARY News anchor was killed in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on October 23 where he was living in self-exile.

Kenyan police first said that Arshad Sharif was killed in a case of “mistaken identity” but since the seasoned journalist’s post-mortem and his body’s transfer to his home country, several Kenyan news outlets have not only questioned the police’s conduct but have raised questions over the manner in which he was killed.

An investigation is currently underway in Pakistan as well. According to the details, a two-member fact-finding committee was set up by the federal interior ministry to investigate the killing of Arshad Sharif. The FIA has asked Tasneem Haider to appear before FIA Headquarters on November 29 (Tuesday) along with evidence.

Earlier, Tasneem Haider – who was claimed to be the spokesperson of PML-N – alleged that the assassination plots against PTI chief Imran Khan and slain senior journalist Arshad Sharif were prepared by PML-N in London.

While addressing a press conference in London, Tasneem Haider Shah claimed that he held three meetings with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif at Hussain Nawaz’s office in London.

“I am associated with the PML-N for the last 20 years. I was summoned for the meeting to prepare a plot to assassinate Imran Khan and Arshad Sharif,” Tasneem Shah said.

He further alleged that Sharif had also vowed to spot a place in Wazirabad and the Punjab government will be blamed for the assassination plot.

Tasneem Haider Shah also revealed that PML-N was also aware of the journalist’s location in Kenya and he was told that Arshad Sharif will be assassinated in Kenya.
