FIR Against Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan for Mocking Castes

A petition was filed in New Delhi to lodge FIR against Katrina Kaif for passing ‘castist’ remarks during the promotions of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty are already booked in this case that alleges that the actor of mocked and humiliated scheduled castes on a public platform.

The court listed the matter for consideration on February 27th and also asked for a reply from Delhi police about the complaint. The plea states that the accused persons have ‘committed atrocity’ against the members of the caste. They insulted and humiliated them.

The complainant, Harnam Singh, former Chairman of Delhi Commission for Karamchari, said that Khan during a programme on a television channel while Kaif, “rather than protesting at the offensive and insensitive statement, joined the accused number 1 (Khan) in insulting and abusing the victim through her conduct.”

The accused Shilpa Shetty and Salman Khan used the word ‘bhangi’ on a public platform that hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste Community. An FIR was already filed against Salman Khan in December at Andheri police station.

Rojgar Aghari Republican Party of India Vice President Kishore Masoom stated, “We highly condemn Salman and Shilpa for using such words that show us in a bad light. We have filed a complaint and will hold a protest in front of Salman’s house. According to the law, he has to serve five years imprisonment.”

 Masoom said, “No one is above the law. And talking of his fans, only the elite people did not make him ‘Salman Khan the Star’, people like us watch his films too. Who will support a man who is so disrespectful towards his fans? We are hurt.”

 

A similar FIR was lodged in Jaipur by the community members. The Valmiki community held massive protests against Salman Khan and obstructed the screening of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ in cinemas across the state.
