India taken over by Extremist, Hindu Supremacist ideology of RSS: Imran Khan

Addressing the members of the Islamic Society of North America, Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the extremist ideology of the RSS that has consumed India, and threatens to eliminate not only Indian Muslims, but also poses a grave threat to Pakistan and the entire South Asian region.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Sunday, urged the international community to identify the regional and global repercussions of a nuclear-armed India dominated by Hindu supremacist ideology promoted by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Addressing the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) in Houston on Sunday via video conferencing, Prime Minister Khan said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party were devout disciples of the RSS ideology of Hindu supremacy, which is married with prejudice, hatred, and racism.

India taken over by Extremists

The Premier said that this Hindu supremacist ideology is the foundation of India’s unlawful annexation of the disputed Himalayan territory. He underscored that the RSS was inspired by Nazism, Hitler, Mussolini and Fascism, and emerged with a vendetta against centuries of Muslim rule over the subcontinent.

“It believes in the racial supremacy of the Hindu civilization, it believes in the ethnic cleansing of Muslims of India, and it believes that India is only for Hindus.” Explaining the origins and ideologies of the founding fathers of RSS, Imran Khan emphasized the spread of hatred towards Muslims, alongside eliminating tolerance from India, as witnessed after the assassination of India’s most popular leader, Gandhi.

Imran Khan stressed that following the events of 9/11, Islam was globally sensitized as a religion of terrorism and intolerance, and today, we are witnessing the terrifying consequences of Islamophobia.

The premier noted that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was the ambassador of “Hindu-Muslim unity”, however, the prejudice and intolerance in the Hindu community compelled him to pursue a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. Underscoring the BJP’s mammoth victory in the Indian general election, Prime Minister Khan said, “We are talking about a country over 1 billion people, armed with nuclear weapons, taken over by an extreme ideology.”

Imran Khan observed that the emergence of the Nazi party revealed how a small, well-organized ideological group can take over an entire country. He said, “That is what is happening in India. An extreme ideology has taken over India, they do not consider minorities, especially Muslims, as equals.”

The premier continued, “This extremist ideology was responsible for the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat. It is responsible for the lynching of Muslims.” Imran Khan lamented the plight of Indian Muslims who are tortured and beaten up by Hindu cow protectors and narrated the ordeal of the 1.9 billion Muslims in Assam, who are being deprived of their Indian citizenship.

Imran Khan said, “It is this extremist ideology that has placed 9 million Muslims in Kashmir under curfew for 28 days.” The premier lamented that the Narendra Modi-led BJP government has violated not only the Indian Constitution but also the resolutions of the UN Security Council, which gave Kashmiris the right to decide their own destiny through a referendum.

He said, “The BJP government has stated very clearly that they want to change the demography of the disputed territory. They want to change a Muslim-majority province into a Muslim minority province by bringing in out-settlers to change the demography.”

Secular India is No More

Imran Khan noted that the Modi-led government has sidelined the judgments of the Indian Supreme Court, and the promises made by one of India’s founding fathers, Jawaharlal Nehru, with the people of Kashmir. The premier said, “This is a violation of the 4th Geneva Convention, Article 49. You cannot change the demography of occupied land.”

Narrating the ordeal of the people of Kashmir under an unprecedented security lockdown, Imran Khan said, “They have shut out all media, internet-no news is coming from there. We believe that the RSS goons have been let loose on the Kashmiri population. We believe people are being picked out. Reports are coming out of 8000 people imprisoned, and 4000 people have been taken out of Kashmir.”

Lamenting how the Indian opposition leaders were forbidden to enter Srinagar, Imran Khan said, “Muslims do not have the same rights as Hindus in India. They have completely cast aside the secularism of Nehru and Gandhi. I’m afraid this ideology will not stop here, they have let out a genie of the bottle.”

The premier urged Muslims across the world, and the members of ISNA, to use their platforms to address the misconceptions about Islam across the western world.

Imran Khan underscored that this intolerance promoted by the Hindu supremacist ideology will not stop at Muslims, but in fact, it will target other religious minorities across India, including the Dalits, Christians, Sikhs, and others. He said, “The concept of a secular India is threatened by this wave of extremism and intolerance.”

The Prime Minister condemned the presence of over 900,000 Indian troops deployed in occupied Kashmir, which has led to unprecedented human rights violations and restrictions of everyday movement. He noted that the Pakistani leadership does not believe that it is “dealing with a rational government in India.”

He observed that when a radicalized, young Kashmir boy blew up a convoy of Indian paramilitary force earlier in February, India chose to blame Pakistan without any evidence. Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated his apprehensions of a false flag attack, he said, “We feel that India will stage another false flag attack to divert attention. There will be bloodshed in the streets to oppress the people, subdue the people, and kill their hunger for freedom, ethnically cleanse them.”

He continued, “We believe that the kind of oppressive tactics they are undertaking in Kashmir, they will need to divert the world’s attention to Pakistan. We believe that as they did in February, they will plan some sort of attack on Pakistan.”

Imran Khan warned that the region is at risk because India has been taken over by a “mad ideology” and its nuclear assets are a grave threat for Pakistan and the world at large. He stressed that the international community and the OIC must play its role in mediating this conflict, and eliminating the possibility of a nuclear standoff between the two nations.

Islam: Religion of Peace

Imran Khan stressed that following the events of 9/11, Islam was globally sensitized as a religion of terrorism and intolerance, and today, we are witnessing the terrifying consequences of Islamophobia. The premier stressed that terrorism is not associated with any religion, as all religions are based on equality and justice.

He said, “Islam is a religion of faith and has no ties with terrorism or extremist. In fact, terrorism cannot be associated with any religion. People in the West must delink religious groups and religions from the acts committed by individuals.”

He noted that the term “Islamic terrorism” led to worldwide oppression of Muslims, including the Kashmiri struggle for freedom, which was maligned as Islamist terrorism by the Indian governments. The premier urged Muslims across the world, and the members of ISNA, to use their platforms to address the misconceptions about Islam across the western world.
