Jemima Goldsmith, the former wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan, deleted her tweet following bizarre responses from the Pakistani Twitter users.
In a deleted tweet, Jemima Goldsmith had asked Pakistani social media users to help her find an English translation of the Qawwali ‘Athra Ishq Ni Saon Denda’ sung by maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Soon her Twitter feed flooded with responses from Pakistani Twitter users.
One Twitter user said that the qawwali is currently in the Punjabi language and its English translation is not available yet. However, she must contact Prime Minister Imran Khan for the English translation of the Qawwali.
Another user said that PM Imran Khan will help her since both the former cricketer and singer respected each other. A Twitter user said that it is a very difficult task to translate the songs and Qawwalis of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in English.
Later, Jemima Goldsmith deleted the tweet. She did not give the exact reason for deleting her tweet but it seems that bizarre suggestions from the Pakistani Twitter users offended her.
Like Prime Minister Imran Khan, Jemima Goldsmith is among a huge fan of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The late singer also participated in the charity fundraising program for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.
Not the first time
It is not the first time, Pakistani Twitter users have made Jemima Goldsmith uncomfortable by linking her to PM Imran Khan.
Back in 2019, Jemima Goldsmith was left speechless after a fan posted a question regarding her feelings for Imran Khan on Twitter.
A social media user asked Jemima an inappropriate question on whether she has ever cried badly for Imran Khan. The question left witty Jemima dumbstruck. She responded to the question with an expression of ‘Wow’ while retweeting the post on Twitter. Users took her confused response as a hint at her lingering feelings for her ex-husband, Imran Khan.
Jemima Goldsmith, despite their divorce in 2004, is still popular among Khan’s fans in Pakistan. The couple married in 1995 and parted ways in 2004. Imran Khan and Jemima Goldsmith have two sons, Qasim, and Suleman from the marriage.
Khan and Goldsmith were the most sought-after couple in Pakistan; several fans wished for them to come back together following the dissolution of the second marriage of Imran Khan with Reham Khan. Controversies were rife that Imran Khan might remarry Jemima Goldsmith amid the speculations of his third marriage. Imran Khan, however, ended up marrying his spiritual healer, Bushra Maneka.
