Maulana Tariq Jameel receives love from India, slammed in Pakistan

Indian netizens expressed gratitude to Maulana Tariq Jameel for praying for them during these trying times. However, Pakistanis have criticized Maula Tariq Jamil for inaugurating his store during Covid as many people were seen violating SOPs.

Pakistani scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel has been receiving love from India but he has been slammed in Pakistan. Maulana Jameel garnered praise of Indian netizens as he made a special prayer to Allah for their relief from the torment of COVID-19.

A video of Maulana Tariq Jameel praying for the people of Indian citizens circulated on social media. In his special prayer, he asked for the relief of Muslims and non-Muslims alike from the deadly coronavirus. Adding that Muslims have raised their hands asking Him for relief for the sake of humanity. He expressed his sorrow over the disturbing visuals of people in India devastated by a coronavirus.

Maulana Jameel prayed to Allah to end the pandemic from all over the world and bring relief to the distressed people. He received praise on Indian social media as soon as his video went viral on Twitter.

Indian netizens expressed gratitude to Maulana Tariq Jameel despite being vilified by Indian media in the past. They acknowledged that while Indian media scorned Maulana Tariq Jameel, he rose above the conflict and made a special prayer for the people of India. He had also tweeted earlier expressing solidarity with the people of India.

“My prayers for a speedy recovery go to all those suffering from the dangerous wave of COVID-19 in India and the world. May Allah have mercy on humanity and rid us of this pandemic. #PrayForIndia #pakistanstandwithindia” wrote Maulana Tariq Jameel in a tweet.

While he garnered praise from India, in Pakistan, he has been receiving flak as a large number of people were spotted violating COVID-19 SOPs at the inauguration of his clothing brand, MJT in Karachi.

A video of people gathered outside the store went viral on social media. It was seen that people were neither wearing masks nor practicing social distancing. Social media criticized Maulana Tariq Jameel for arranging a PR event at a time when there has been a sharp surge in the COVID-19 cases in Pakistan.
