Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief and former member of the national assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman met with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo and ousted Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif at his Jati Umra residence on Tuesday, 9th April. The JUI-F leader, who is spending time outside the parliament for the first time in decades, said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was constituted for revenge.

“NAB is an institution of revenge. You should not expect accountability or justice from NAB. I think we need to take some strict decisions when it comes to NAB,” Fazl told the press after the meeting which lasted for two hours and focused on problems being faced by Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif had refused medical treatment offered by the government, even after PM Khan had announced that the former premier be given access to the best medical facilities available in Pakistan.

The JUI-F chief said he was visiting Nawaz to inquire about his health and he would also be meeting former president Asif Ali Zardari today or the day after. “He [Nawaz] has a lot of criticism over the state of the economy. After the election everyone was on the same page that rigging had taken place,” Fazl said.

As the meeting was taking place, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that the Supreme Court was informed that Nawaz Sharif was so unwell that his life was in danger if bail wasn’t been granted. “Now instead of ambulances Fazlur Rehman has reached there and is giving a political resuscitation for Mian saheb. The courts should take notice of this.”

Nawaz Sharif was granted an interim bail of six weeks for acquiring medical assistance from within the country on 26th March. Ever since the former premier has only visited Sharif medical complex for an appearance and has otherwise abstained people from visiting.
