Enterprise resource planning or ERP is software designed for business process management that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and ultimately automate many back-office functions related to technology, services, and human resources.

SAP S/4HANA – short for SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA – is an ERP software that is characteristically an in-memory database and conveniently allows companies to perform transactions and analyze business data in real-time. Hence, SAP is basically meant to cover all day-to-day processes of an enterprise (for example, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, plan-to-product, and request-to-service) and core capabilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Usama Qureshi (Managing Director and CEO, Hamdard Pakistan) shared his vision of transforming Hamdard into a ‘Progressive Organization’, and creating capabilities that can help a company acquire, retain and assist customers, increasing speed and agility in insights, which is not possible without using a cutting-edge technology like SAP.

He also added that by introducing SAP, Hamdard would reap the benefits of improved efficiency, increased productivity, streamlined operations, and improved customer relations – everything a company needed to keep itself relevant and competitive in today’s fast-paced local and international markets.

The usage of ERP systems quickly followed the widespread dependence of businesses on computers. This not only helps small-scale companies to work as well as the leading organizations in their respective industries but also assists management and even reduction of manpower dedicated to maintain vigilance tasks. Using integration software, thus, allows corporations to concentrate the smarts of their employees towards the creative side of productions.

In Pakistan, several corporations like, Fauji Fertilizer Company Ltd, Byco Petroleum Pakistan Ltd, Habib Bank Ltd, National Bank of Pakistan etc. and now Hamdard Pakistan have implemented SAP. This not only helps the said corporations digitize their operations but also ultimately boosts our nation’s economy with their success.
