Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif recently engaged in a conversation with Ambassador Riina Kionka, representing the European Union, to discuss matters of mutual concern. During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif extended his gratitude to EU leaders for their congratulatory messages on his re-election, emphasizing his anticipation of fostering close collaboration with the EU. Moreover, Prime Minister Sharif commended the EU’s continuous support to Pakistan through initiatives such as the Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP) Plus, which has been extended until 2027. He also conveyed Pakistan’s keenness to engage positively with the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy, particularly through collaboration with the European Investment Bank. Recognizing the importance of reforms across various sectors, he sought the EU’s assistance in providing consultancy and expertise for their implementation.
