Proposal underway to make Sindh, New York ‘sister states’

The proposal is expected to create a strong framework for collaboration and partnership between the two states, fostering cooperation between their respective universities, hospitals, and research institutes.

A proposal is underway to declare Sindh and New York as “Sister States” says Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori. Talks have been held between Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and New York State Assembly Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos to establish a groundbreaking proposal.

The proposal is expected to create a strong framework for collaboration and partnership between the two states, fostering cooperation between their respective universities, hospitals, and research institutes.

Both parties conducted the meeting to discuss the progress of the project. The proposal will lead to the delegation of the New York State Assembly visiting Sindh shortly to explore the possibilities of formalizing the sister-state relationship. A resolution will be presented in both assemblies after the visit of the delegation to make Sindh and the USA official sister states.

The collaboration will open up scholarship opportunities for deserving students. It is expected to reap significant economic and cultural advantages for Sindh and other cities.

The decision has been taken in a bid to strengthen the brotherly relations between Pakistan and China. The decision was taken at a forum on the friendly cooperation between the cities of China and Pakistan on Thursday.

The Pakistani and Chinese delegates signed a separate agreement in this regard in the presence of the Federal Minister of Inter-Provincial Coordination, Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Pakistan Ambassador to China, Masood Khalid, Vice President, of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Lin Yi and Executive Vice Governor of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
