There are no winners in wars, only humanity loses: DG ISPR

News Desk |

Pakistan Air Force earlier today engaged with 6 targets at Line of Control (LoC), DG ISPR, Major General Asif Ghafoor said while addressing a press conference in the wake of escalating tension at LoC.

“Since we are a responsible and peace-loving state, we decided not to use any military target, “said DG ISPR.

“As a result of engaging our target, no human life was affected. Staying within our jurisdiction, six targets were locked. And we carried out the strike,” said the army spokesperson.

“The sole purpose was to demonstrate our right that we are capable and fully prepared. We don’t want this to escalate but will respond to any imposed aggression, “maintained Maj Gen Ghafoor.

“In the morning today, Pakistan Air Forces shot down two Indian aircraft inside Pakistani airspace. One of the aircraft fell inside AJ&K [Azad Jammu and Kashmir] while others fell inside IoK [Indian occupied Kashmir]. One Indian pilot was arrested by troops on the ground while two in the area, “told DG ISPR. This was earlier confirmed by DG ISPR in a tweet too.

“One arrested pilot, who was injured, has been shifted to CMH; he will be taken good care of,” assured Maj Gen Ghafoor.

DG ISPR also negated the Indian claims of shooting down Pakistan’s fighting jet. “India claimed that it had shot down Pakistan’s F-16. There is no truth in that. Pakistan did not use f-16 today in the action, neither was any aircraft of Pakistan shot down,” told army spokesperson.

“Now what is the next step? The government of Pakistan, state of Pakistan, forces of Pakistan, people of Pakistan, we have all conveyed the message of peace to India and route to peace goes through the dialogue,” said DG ISPR.

“Both countries have capability and capacity but war is the failure of policies and India needs to understand that. War, as PM Khan said, is easy to start, but no one knows where it would end. “

“Having displayed our capability, will, and resolve, we still don’t want [tension] to escalate. We want to follow a path that leads to peace. People of both countries and region at large have right to live in and live in peace,” stated Maj Gen Ghafoor.

Urging India to consider peace and dialogue, DG ISPR said, “Let’s sit together and resolve the issue as war doesn’t resolve any issue. “

Praising the role of media, Maj Gen Ghafoor said, “Media has responsibly practiced peace journalism. We don’t claim any victory. No one wins the war, only humanity loses. “
